"God saw that the light was good, and He separated the light from the darkness." (Genesis 1:4)
When modern Christians discourse about God, they often talk about how He unifies and smooths out differences. They point out that He is gracious and generally accepting of everyone.
That's true...
Yet, this observation about Him shouldn't be stretched out of proportion. Yes, God is gracious. Yet, some things will never be reconciled because they're in direct opposition to His purposes.
Yes, God often brings restoration. Yet, there are occasions when He has no choice but division.
While it may be difficult to understand, there's often a need for separation.
From the very beginning of time, darkness must be separated from light.

Separating light from dark really makes no sense. Light is a perception of photons. Dark is an absence of perception. If you take away an absence, you can nothing.
ReplyDeleteIt's the same as saying "something" minus "nothing" equals "something", nothing changes.
